A Dream Come True - Me at Carnegie Hall

I will be performing live at Carnegie Hall, Saturday, Jan. 24th, at 12 noon. Can you believe it?? A long-time, all-but-lost dream, to play in a prestigious concert hall, is now coming true! All the years, decades, of long hard work has, in a curiously serendipitous way, come to fruition. Who would have thought?
I was hired as an accompanist for an aspiring professional opera singer, Amelia Krcznyski (anon.). Krcznyski was the 2nd prize winner at the prestigious Crescendo International Music Competition. What an honor! First prize winner gets to perform in the country of her choice, all expenses paid. And the 2nd prize winner gets an all-expenses paid trip to New York's world-renown Carnegie Hall.
Lifelong Dream Comes True
Ever since I started taking piano lessons at age 11, I dreamed of performing in a known concert hall. I used to fantasize about winning the prestigious Van Cliburn Piano Competition, traveling to some exotic place like Russia or Budapest, taking the podium which composers and performers such as Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff stood, sitting down with world-famous orchestra, and playing my heart out.
I can't think of anything that would be a bigger high.
Now, serving as an accompanist for an almost-professional vocal student may not be exactly the same, but how many musicians can say they performed at the world-famous Carnegie Hall?
A friend who's a professional videographer will be filming the performance. So when it's done, I'll put it up here on our blog for the world to see. So be sure to check back after January 24 to see mine and Amelia's performance!
All I can say, Jesus is good.
