    Market Research for Piano Teachers

One of the things our research department is working on is developing a Market Research arm. We want to start providing market research for central NJ piano teachers and studios to help them better identify and target their "hottest" demographics. This information would be valuable in helping them develop a stronger website presence by focusing the website design on clear, research-driven data.

This is an ambitious project, still only in the embryo phase. We may need to acquire additional capital assets in order to truly provide a top-notch service. This is because statistically signifcant market research is costly.

Our studio has put together a long term plan for generating capital. The plan will likely take a year or more to complete.

Market research can be a hard sell because reliable data takes time to collect and analyze. Businesses who would most likely benefit from such research will have to spend resources for a good while, without seeing any tangible results.

If your piano studio would like more information pertaining to demographic data or niche market research, please contact one of our multimedia consultants at www.gnosisarts.com/contact

I would definitely be interested in this idea. It is funny how you can think that you know where your core market lies, and then you are thrown a curve ball. I was thrown a curve ball that I can say I am very happy with just recently. My demographic at Melody Piano is usually children, and teenagers. I am proud to say that I now have two adult students enrolled with me. I have been very pleased with the results that I am getting with them. This has made me re-think my idea of business completely. It is very important to stay open to what ever may come your way. I can't wait to hear what happens with this new project.

You're right, Suzan. We've had the experience of targeting one demographic, only to later find out that an entirely different demographic was more interested in our products/services. That is why sound market research is key.

    Thanks for the comment!

You certainly has a great idea! A well-marketed website will definitely help piano teachers. I also have my own provided for me by Music Teachers Helper and I am very satisfied with their services. My website handles my billing, schedules and even taxes. This is also where my students and their parents communicate with me.

This is a good tip. I really appreciate it. I created my own website. I am VERY prompt about getting back to potential clients as well. It is very important to make sure that your business is listed in all local business listings, like yellow pages for example. I will go ahead and check out Music Teachers Helper...... What's your site adress? I would love to see it.
