    Sight Reading update

    An update on sight reading......

    How do you prefer to teach your students? I have many different "tricks" or "methods" to help my students remember each and every note on the grand staff.

    My favorite for beginners is as follows;

    (bass clef): "bottom line G, top space G".

    (Treble clef): "bottom line E, top space E".

    My students tend to adjust to; and remember this method very well.

    I tell them that these are the boundaries of the staffs.

    1.) How do you feel about intervals?
    2.) When do you introduce intervals to your students?

    From here, I tend to have several different techniques that I use depending on the students learning capability.

    What is a technique that you use?
